1. Information We Collect
When you visit the Platform, make a donation, or register for updates, HopeBridge Foundation collects the following categories of information:
- Contact & Identity Information: Full name, email address, telephone/mobile number, and mailing address.
- Statutory Tax Records: Permanent Account Number (PAN) where requested for Section 80G income tax deduction certificate issuance.
- Transaction Records: Donation amount in Indian Rupees (₹ INR), designated humanitarian cause, donation timestamp, payment mode selected (UPI, NetBanking, Card), and unique transaction ID issued by Cashfree Payments.
- Technical Browsing Data: IP address, device type, browser information, and referral URLs for security auditing and load balancing.
2. PAN Information & Section 80G Statutory Mandate
Why We Request Your PAN Card
Under the statutory rules framed by the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), Ministry of Finance, Government of India, all registered non-profit organizations issuing Section 80G receipts must mandatorily file an annual return of donations (Form 10BD) containing the donor's identification. Providing your PAN allows the Income Tax Department to automatically populate your pre-filled Form 10BE and grant you an official 50% tax deduction.
Your PAN is utilized strictly for regulatory tax filings and is never disclosed for marketing or commercial objectives.
3. Payment Security & No Storage of Financial Credentials
HopeBridge Foundation prioritizes the highest standards of financial security:
- Zero Card Data Retention: We do not collect, process, or store your credit or debit card numbers, expiration dates, CVV/CVC codes, UPI PINs, or net banking passwords on our local servers.
- Direct Gateway Encryption: When you enter payment details, you are interacting directly with the 256-bit SSL encrypted interface hosted by Cashfree Payments India Private Limited.
- RBI Tokenization: All payment card transactions comply with the Reserve Bank of India's Card-on-File (CoF) tokenization framework.
4. How We Use Donor Data
We use the collected information solely for genuine non-profit purposes:
- To generate and email instant donation acknowledgments and 80G tax receipts;
- To transmit project updates, photos, and transparent progress reports from our frontline hunger relief and education centers;
- To maintain financial accounts subject to statutory audits by chartered accountants;
- To identify and resolve payment disputes or facilitate refund requests;
- To showcase brand badges for TopDonor outbid champions who opt-in to public leaderboard rankings.
5. Secure Integration with Cashfree Payments
Cashfree Payments India Private Limited acts as our licensed payment aggregator. When initiating a transaction, minimal required parameters (e.g., donor name, email, phone, and donation amount in INR) are securely transmitted via authenticated API endpoints using cryptographic signatures. Cashfree handles authorization directly with your issuing bank or UPI application in compliance with RBI guidelines.
6. Absolute Commitment: No Sale or Trade of Donor Data
We never sell, trade, rent, or lease donor lists or personal information to third-party telemarketers, commercial advertisers, or unauthorized entities. Information is disclosed only to:
- Our authorized payment partner (Cashfree) to process contributions;
- Statutory government authorities (such as the Income Tax Department) as required by Indian law;
- Court orders or law enforcement agencies when mandated by valid legal process.
